We left our motel in Torrey early this morning, opting to try somewhere else for breakfast as yesterday’s breakfast had been disappointing to say the least. We ended up at a cafe just a few hundred yards up the road, and the menu was so much better (and healthier). We both chose the smoked trout bagel with fruit, and it was delicious.
Once breakfast was done, we drove to Moab. The scenery was fantastic, so much better than driving round the M25, and we arrived in Moab just in time for a late lunch. We found a lovely hippie-style cafe, and both opted for a healthy salad. Once we were done and dusted, we went for a mooch along the Main Street shops.
One thing I find weird is that you can only buy alcohol with an ABV of more than 3.2% at a Utah State Liquor Store, yet you can wander into the general store and buy shotguns, pistols and ammunition over the counter. Only in America!
We then checked into our accommodation, where we’ll be for the next six nights. It’s a boutique B&B and it’s fabulous… luxurious without being stuffy, we have a lovely room with all mod cons, and we’re in a nice, quiet area just five minutes’ walk from all the lovely restaurants downtown.
No photos today, apart from the one above. We’re now going for dinner, and we’ll make plans on how we’re going to spend the next five or six days. The only thing we have booked is a helicopter ride on Friday. Other than that, there’s so much to see and do, we’ll need to decide what to do and when. First world problems!
